Jamaica Day

On August 6th, 1962, Jamaica became a sovereign nation, breaking away from British rule and stepping into a future marked by cultural brilliance and fierce independence. This Caribbean island, with its golden beaches and reggae heartbeat, is a symbol of creativity, resistance, and pride.

Jamaica’s legacy is shaped by its global voices of music, sport, activism, and art.  Deeper still is a soulfulness found in its communities, where family, faith, and resilience run deep.  Independence Day is a celebration of more than freedom!  It's a joyful expression of identity.  It tells the world that small islands can cast big shadows and that true independence is about claiming one’s voice and never letting go.
