Costa Rica Day

On September 15th, 1821, Costa Rica, along with its Central American neighbors, declared independence from Spain.  This moment began a journey defined by peace, innovation, and cultural pride.  Independence has always been intertwined with vision and identity for Costa Ricans.

This beautiful country is admired for its natural wonders.  It holds honor in its choice to abolish the army in favor of investing in education and well-being. Independence Day celebrates not only freedom but also a national commitment to harmony, sustainability, and compassion.
