Belgium Day

On July 21st, 1831, Belgium officially became an independent constitutional monarchy, with King Leopold I taking the oath as the nation’s first king. This day marks Belgium’s separation from Dutch rule and its commitment to freedom, unity, and democratic governance.

Belgium is a nation of rich contrasts.  French, Dutch, and German-speaking communities coexist in a uniquely multicultural identity.  From the medieval streets of Bruges to the heart of the EU in Brussels, Belgium is a symbol of both historical depth and modern cooperation.

National Day is celebrated with military parades, fireworks, and heartfelt gatherings.  July 21st is more than a national birthday, it's a celebration of diversity, diplomacy, and a shared belief in liberty and civic strength.
